There is an almost creature-like quality to how these cameras are positioned. The way they spread out reminds me of those paintings of biblically accurate angels. While I can esthetically appreciate this symmetrical dystopia, and while it’s clearly designed to induce fear, one can’t help but laugh at its redundancy. How many views of the same corner do you need? Aren’t you surveilling me enough from my pocket? I’ve let you in my home. You are my home. More than a security measure, it’s a scare tactic. A manifestation of power. A reminder of the omnipresent technological deity.
