The city of New York is known for having a massive Puerto Rican community. It’s practically an extension of the island at this point and I can always feel at home there. I feel present and grounded in my heritage whenever I spot my flag in the wild. The yellow fringes on the edges are an additional touch that reminds me of the hot blazing sun over there.
